Red Gear Productions Business Philosophy

Red Gear Productions isn't all fun and games.(As much as we would like to be, but it just isn't possible!) In order to fund all of our gaming projects, Red Gear Productions offers free and paid web services. Such as Banner & Logo creation, HTML Coding, Forum Setup, Web site template set up, plus some. However, unlike many other web designers on the web, we see this as a really cool hobby. We enjoy helping other web masters make their sites better! Under certain circumstances we also provide free services for web masters who may not be able to afford them other wise. You can ALWAYS E-mail us to ask questions, if we can help you, be certain that we will.

Red Gear Productions Gaming Philosophy

Founded on the belief that gaming should be fun for every one. The "hard core" player, and the "novice" players should be able to have the same amount of fun, but should also be able to experience the same type of game with each other, team work, and having strong confidence in your fellow player is key to taking victory, and advancing in our games.

Red Gear Productions has produced over five highly advanced and popular gaming experiences through out the seven years we've been in business.

Our List of Games:

Sword Quest - An avid gamers community released in 2003 that took in over 200 active role-players, with over two years of character and storyline development it is our largest game we've ever created.
~Status~ Closed, game ended.

Black Earth - Black Earth was a fantasy/future/mecha game that Red Gear Productions created in 2004, the game had a large success rate with a player base of over 75 active role-players. With a year of character development, it was our second big success in the role-playing game "business".
~Status~ Closed, Game ended.

Sword Quest 2 - Sword Quest 2 was released in 2005, compared to Sword Quest, it was only considered a minor success. With a player base of over 30 active role-players, the community stayed open for well over eight months before closing in 2006.
~Status~ Closed, Data Loss (Avid Gamer Servers Crashed)

Prospect City - Prospect City was released in 2005, with a highly advanced "buy and sell" system, the game was an online role-players sim city engine. You created towns, cities, traded, sold property, etc. It was a large success in the Avid gamers community, with over 80 active role-players in the community, it was a great and rewarding experience.

  • What is SoA Redux?
Siege of Avalon takes place in the fictional land of Eurale. Within Eurale are seven kingdoms: Nisos, Aratoy, Oriam, Fornax, Elythria, Cathea, and Taberland. The seven kingdoms united into an uneasy alliance and built a citadel as a meeting place, which was named Avalon.

Within the land is a civilization of nomads known as the Sha'ahoul. Their religion values very highly the earth and nature and therefore they are against farming, the building of permanent structures, and similar practices which they feel destroys the earth. After discovering the existence of Eurale, they declared war on the seven kingdoms to eradicate their way of life.

Many refugees of the destruction caused by the Sha'ahoul took shelter in Avalon. The seven kingdoms sent military support to defend Avalon and the refugees. To the people of Eurale, Avalon is seen as the last hope at stopping the Sha'ahoul. The Sha'ahoul and their leader, Mithras, chose to overtake the citadel by setting up a siege around it.

The game begins with an entry in the hero's journal. The siege has been going on for several years. His brother, Corvus, serves as part of the military in Avalon. When their father dies, the hero feels that it is his obligation to inform Corvus of the sad news, so he becomes part of the crew of a ship sailing from Elythria to Avalon to deliver supplies. The Sha'ahoul manage to sink all of the ships except the one the hero is on. The ship reaches Avalon, but has lost most of its supplies. It is not possible to make a return voyage to Elythria and so the hero decides to stay at Avalon, inform Corvus of their father's death, and help out Avalon in whatever manner he can. The player gains control at this point and begins by speaking to Corvus and informing him about his father's death.

  • Can I get the Source Code for Siege of Avalon in order to create my own game, or add to already created content?
