The Freewebs Community - What we think!

This piece is written entirely by Ron of Red Gear Productions.  The following is an opinion of his on the Freewebs community, give it a read if you want.  See if you share any of the same feelings or ideas.

Ah, Freewebs...  The website community to end ALL website communities, don't you think?  Really?  I don't.  If you're curious as to why I've come to that conclusion well then, read on.  You will find out.

When it comes down to it, it's not very hard to see why the Freewebs community is doomed to fail.  From my personal experience on Freewebs I've come to notice that many of the web masters of their respective sites like to "trash talk" or insult others.  Why?  I don't really know, and it makes no sense to me.  However, I think it has to do with the general level of maturity here on the Freewebs community.  This is more apparent then ever on the Freewebs forums, children run rampant insulting others sites, games, hobbies, it doesn't really matter.  If theres something to make fun of on those forums just because it varies from their own views, it's insulted.  Freewebs makes no attempt at trying to remedy this either, at least in any major way.  As far as I'm concerned if you're happy with your own site, GOOD.

You made the site and that's all that matters.  My site has been open for more than two years now and it's managed have a relatively nice visitor base.  I'm very proud of that fact too, and I thank all the members who come back for another visit or new visitors all together!  With that in mind how ever I would also like to point out the fact that most web masters DO NOT VISIT MANY OTHER SITES.

If you're far too busy with your own site, and you don't look at say...  An affiliates content on a daily basis it defeats the entire purpose of being partners or affiliates.  You need to SUPPORT EACH OTHER, it's not a one way thing.  ALSO, some site masters are beyond arrogant, and that in itself is laughable.  ALL FREEWEBS SITES ARE -SMALL- compared to any major, or streamline site on the web.  I've got almost 26,000 hits, I've got more than some of the "popular" sites on Freewebs, but I don't care.  I'm generally happy when people ENJOY my content.  That's why I made the site, people like to pull this all site creation thing into a popularity contest which is FINE if you're still in that mental age group, and I'm not insulting ANYONE.

It's just the maturity level on Freewebs has to change, and the web masters need to understand that working together, and visiting each others sites, giving each other support etc, is a way not to only to make your site stronger, but the community as a whole.
